How do you know how much Vitamin C is in a particular food?

I have a book with calorie counts but it doesn't have any info about vitamins.

All products will have that information printed right on the side of the box or package in the nutrition information graph. If it is a made to eat food like McDonald's or other restaurant that information does not need to be provided. Usually it is not provided since there in minimal or no vitamins in that type of food.

Vitamin C is found in fruits and vegetables. The nutritional information label on pre=packaged foods lists the amount of Vitamin C in mg as well as the percentage of the recommended daily allowance. On line resources like the American Diabetes Association can supply the information about fresh/raw foods.

Packaged food have the Vitamin C content, as well as percentage of the RDA, listed on the side panel, as required by the FDA. For the Vitamin C content of fresh fruit, use a book or website that offers nutritional information in addition to caloric content. You can also compare foods to see which ones are the best sources.

The Office of Dietary Supplements National Institutes of Health lists information about Vitamin C and recommended daily allowances. There is a list available showing which foods contain Vitamin C and in what amounts.
