If you want to get rid of drain flies, first you have to clean your house. Empty the water from your air conditioner and any other places there might be still water. Second, dump drain cleaner down your drains; and third, get a large roll of fly tape and hang it in the areas where the flies live.

First, you need to figure out where the drain flies are coming from, which is usually the nearest sink or drain. That drain needs to be cleaned thoroughly, from the trap to getting a snake and a plunger to clean the pipes where the eggs are laid. Repeat this every month and the problem should go away.
