It is actually very hard. There are a ton of aspiring actors in New York and Los Angeles. You need to get representation with an agent. That requires submitting a video or photos of yourself to them and hoping they call you back with an interest. Then you go on calls to get work, which is difficult as well.

To get a job as an actress, you need to spend a lot of money on going to college for acting, and then move to Los Angeles and audition for acting jobs. To make money before you become famous, you could try becoming a waitress.

You may want to start off by finding a good talent agency who will be able to help you with finding auditions and casting calls.

Serious actresses begin by performing in school plays and community theatre. They complete a four-year degree in theater or music, and they work with a drama coach after graduation. They're willing to move frequently and are comfortable with unsteady employment.
