i have heard that nursing is the most popular profession for the future. also, anything in the health care field. i have heard that any profession involving computers is a good bet as well.

The jobs that tend to have the best future are the ones that require the most work. There will always be a need for doctors, engineers, lawyers and accountants. These jobs also require many years of difficult college level education and further advanced degrees. If you can get one of these jobs you may have a very secure future.

Anything job that gives people a service will always be around. Examples of these are cosmetologists and electricians. People will always need their hair cut and their buildings maintained. Getting a degree in these lines of business doesn't even take very long.

Think about the type of thing that cannot be outsourced overseas. The medical field is one example as well as some types of education.
