On the back side of your PS2 there's a number beginning with "SCPH-", the following number is the model number, search the internet for the version corresponding to that number.

It is very easy to determine what version of Playstation you are using. The mothod is the same for 1 2 and 3. There is a sticker on the back.

If the ps2 is bulky then it is the older version. the newer ps2 is called a ps2 slim its lighter and upgraded.

Underneath your console you will find a label. It is the large black one that has a bar code! On this label you will find a section that says model number which begins with scph! The code that follows this number can be used to identify your products details online.
