How do you decide on a present for your dad?

I have no idea what to get him?

Think about what he likes to do. Then get him an item that helps him do it, a related book, or a ticket to a related event. Gift cards are another option, but they can seem impersonal and uncaring. Another idea is to create something yourself to thank him for memories--a personalized calendar or photobook, for example.

You could always ask him what he would like. If you don't want to do that, you can always get him things like kwik clamps for woodworking.

Dad's usually like anything that has to do with food so I often get my dad M&M's or some other type of food. I usually get my father in law a gift card to Caribou Coffee or one of his favorite restaurants. Dad's are hard to shop for because they don't really want anything.

Dads always ask for anything but they don't really tell what they want. Almost every Head of family likes the LCD's so i suggest giving him a nice big gift card for best buy.
