If he is into fishing, give him a gift card to his favorite bait shop or online supplier for his gear. If he is into Nascar, find out his favorite team and give him some merchandise or try to get him some tickets to an event.

Think in terms of giving an experience instead of a material item. For instance, plan a fishing day with your dad. You pick the place, pack the lunch, buy the bait, gather all the gear, do the driving and promise to back up any one-that-got-away story he tells.

There are all kinds of neat tee shirts that tell the world who his favorite nascar driver is. Also, there is many hunting and fishing gadgets such as warm hunting socks or new fishing spinners.

You could take your dad fishing or hunting and get something that he catches stuffed and hung on the wall. Or take him to a nascar race. Fishermen can always use extra hooks, too. If you have time you could take him fishing and then cook the fish you catch for dinner.

Get something that represents these interests, or a gift card to a shop for the outdoorsman. Do write a card that tells him how much you appreciate him.

Giftcards seem so impersonal but they are actually an excellent gift for the guy who has everything. If he's got a favorite store where he buys fishing and hunting supplies get him a card for there. If he's got a favorite place to eat you could always get him a gift certificate there too.

Get him stuff that he uses all the time like fishing gear...or beer to take fishing with him, LOL. Maybe some ammo to go hunting.
