How do you deal with separation anxiety in infants?

I have to leave my infant every day for work.

Often times if you leave an article of clothing or a blanket which you have worn (or slept with) it can help the infant feel comforted in your absence because he/she has something with your scent to associate to you.

It is hard for infants, because they don't get the concept yet of the seperation, they don't realize that you will be back later. They will adjust over time. It will just take some time for them to get used to being away from you.

Before returmimg to work, get a sitter and just leave the baby a very short time every now and then. The baby will learn that mom always comes back. With an older child, it may seem cruel, but kind of just ignore that tantrums and they'll stop.

You just have to leave the room whenever the baby is not paying attention and then make sure you have someone there that your baby trust and will calm down.
