If you are going from liters to cubic inches, you just multiply liters by 61. 02 to get the cubic inches. To go cubic inches to liters, you multiply cubic inches by 0. 01639.

You convert the engine size by boring out the cylinders walls in the engine block itself. Just be careful not to get the walls to thin.

The main ways are to either to bore it to a bigger size or increase the stroke. Both will required a good amount of engine work. Boring will require changing pistons and all hardware associated. Stroking will require changing cranks and creating clearance in the block.
