My truck has a bad torque converter.

Most of the time when you think you've got a bad tourgue converter you just need to add clutch(brake) fluid.

When a truck is moving in a higher speed, the transmission catches up to the engine, causing it to move almost at the same speed.

Add clutch brake fluid. When truck is moving in a higher speed, therefore the transmission catches up with the engine cause it to move at the same speed.
