How do you change the record speed on an Emerson VCR/DVD?

The record speed is selected using the iamge quality setting like LP, SP, etc. You should be able to go into the menu find the image quality settings and change those features. If that doesn't work them you may be experiencing a device motor failure which would require replacement or repair my a professional.

Well if it is very slow, then you have to optimize it. The best thing to do in this case is take it to a computer technician. He will fix it to for you for no charge. You can't repair this yourself besides actually cleaning the disk tray and all.
