How do you care for a baby's teeth?

Should you brush babies teeth, I would think the fluoride would be bad for them?

It depends on how old they are. I would say up to a year old rub the teeth with fluoride free baby tooth paste with a rag or rubber baby tooth brush. I would not use fluoride on their teeth until maybe four.

Yes - brush your baby's teeth. It is important for babies to be exposed to fluoride in small doses. Fluoride helps them grow strong teeth that will last until their permanent teeth are ready to come in. Without fluoride, teeth may be weak, porous, and prone to breakage.

Fluoride is good for your baby but not in harsh quantities. Don't use fluoride tooth paste. It's harmful if swallowed. Use a children's tooth paste to brush your childs teeth.

Once a baby has sprouted his or her first tooth dental care should begin immediately. Do not use fluoride toothpaste on an infant as it can cause sever health issues if swallowed. You can either use a wet washcloth and wipe the tooth clean twice a day or purchase an infant toothbrush and infant approved toothpaste.

You do need to brush a baby's teeth and gums. You can purchase a special toothbrush that slips over your finger so that you can apply light pressure. It is necessary to look for toothpaste that is made for children under the age of 2 and does not contain fluoride.

They make special toothpaste for babies and young children. You can find it anywhere even at the dollar store. This is harmless and is a training toothpaste. It seems to work pretty well even for young children. You can also get one of those rubber things that you can put on your finger and they can chew on, too.
