It varies state to state on how one becomes a substitute teacher, but most states require at least a bachelor's degree. In Ohio, one can sub with only a bachelor's degree as long as the background check comes back clean. In Colorado, it's necessary to be licensed as a teacher.

Qualifications for substitute teaching can be found on your state's department of education website. Most states require that you have some college courses and a state-issued certification to teach.

Requirements differ from state to state. Typically two things are needed which are a college degree and a successful completion of a competency test. However, you should need to check with your local school or licensing district for their particulars. Once you complete these things, you apply for a substitute position as you would any other job.

It depends on the state that you live in. However, it is probably best that you have at least some sort of college experience, preferably a bachelor's degree in a related field.
