You can start as an intern at a radio station to learn the in's and out's of being a DJ. Talk to your guidance counselor to see if they can recommend colleges that offer degrees in broadcasting. You an also work part time with a local party DJ to see how it is done.

The best way to pursue this would be to attend an educational institution that offers a program in radio and television, or broadcast engineering/communications. Many institutions with these programs will offer internship programs, and that is usually the best way to get your foot in the door.

To become a radio dj you must have dj experience.Once you have that you should go to a radio station and ask to dj for a day or so.

Important qualities to become a radio DJ are pleasant speaking voice and excellent communication skills.The job involves many tasks like conducting interviews, reading commercials and even weather forecast.To improve communication skills it is better to join English courses during high school and college.You can also participate in speech competition, and get feedback on your strengths and weakness.
