First you must have a "calling" - a sign from God that that is the vocation for you. You must also be male, unmarried and be celibate. Most priests train 4 years at a seminary before taking their vows to become a priest. After being ordained, they are assigned to a mission anywhere in the world or pursue further studies.

Join a catholic mission after ensuring that you don't have a child or intentions to have one or falling in love in the mission. If you are from high school, you must have relatively passed. Be ready for assignments in any location in the world to serve the Catholic Church.

An unmarried man would either join a seminary or go to college, majoring in liberal arts, and then joining a seminary. Lastly, he would become a deacon for six months.

In order to become a catholic priest one must first attend a seminary school. Here they will teach everything you need to know about the priest hood. The seminary is basically going to college but you are going for a very specific reason. Then once you graduate you will be ordained and placed with a diocese.

Assuming you're already a male, practicing Catholic and have discerned the priesthood as your calling, the next step is to spend 6-8 years in seminary, training for your vocation.
