Well the simplest way is to use a long rod and puck holes down into it. This will create air holes and aerate the ground.

Aerating wet ground is fairly simple but can be time consuming. You take a pitch fork or hoe and break apart the compacted soil around your plants. This will allow more oxygen and water to reach deeper into the root systems which allows your plants to grow healthier and stronger.

There are several tools that you can buy to do this. There are spikes on the bottom of a metal plate that you strap to your feet. There are two spikes at the end of a long pole that you step on etc. You walk around puncturing wholes in the ground to allow the water to penetrate the ground.
