How do I replace a washing machine lid switch?

These switches only have two wires so they are easy to replace. you need to remove the lid from your washer and find the switch. remove the old one noting how the wires are connected. Replace the old one with the new switch and reconnect the wires int he way they were disconnected.

First disconnect the electricity from the wall. Take off the top to the washing machine. On the underside of the lid is a plastic cover with wires coming out of it. Take the screws out and the lid switch will come off with the cover. Now disconnect the wires and replace the lid switch with the new one.

Pull up hard on the top panel with the lid and control panel attached. Top will swing back. Remove the switch located at the lid hinge on the bottom side of the panel.with a screwdriver. And replace. That simple.

Acquire the necessary parts and equipment needed. Uninstall the old lid switch. Look into the wires that went into the fist switch. Then use those same wires to install the new switch. It may require more than that because this work will require great detail. You might want to get someone to do it for you.

Remove back of washer where you can reach switch, top may have to be slightly lifted. Switch should just clip in place. Make sure to get correct switch to replace.
