Can you help me troubleshoot a slow agitator in my washing machine?

Check the Drive belt. If it is loose while the machine is running, then you might need to replace it with a new one.

Did you check the drive belt in the machine itself. Remove the casing to your machine and make sure the drivebelt that attaches the drive shaft to the agitator isn't loose or streatched out.

it sounds to me like your motor is going, in a washer the agitator is driven by a clutch and transmission system attached to the motor. so when the agitator slows the motor is going slow.
