Ignition fuses are generally located underneath the hood. Check the passenger side for a box the size of a small shoebox, and see if any of those fuses are burnt out. They are generally larger fuses (up to 50 amp); find the faulty one and replace.

First you must buy some new fuses. After you have the fuses you must find the fusebox. It shoud be under the dashboard, just below the driver`s left knee. Then you should open the fusebox and verify which fuse is blown and replace it with a new one. You must replace the blown fuse with an identical one.

There is no "ignition fuse" in a 1988 Ranger. Ignition system is controlled by an ICM (Ignition Control Module). There is a Fuse Box located under the dash; refer to owner's manual for specific fuse application. Otherwise take your Ranger to your Ford dealer for closer inspection and troubleshoting.

Buy a set of different amp fuses. Locate the fuse box under the dash board.Locate the ignition fuse for the right amp. There is also a ICM and is the main ignition fuse for a 1988 Ford. You also need to look in your owner's manual for the pacific fuse type for your ranger and how to change it.

First locate your fuse panel. Typically it will be located down on the drivers side kick panel. Use the diagram printed inside it to locate the ignition fuse. Use pliers or a fuse puller to carefully remove the fuse. Then install a new fuse of the same style and rating.
