The remove whole unit, loosen to screws that hold in the surrounding unit and and jiggle it out. Then make sure you have cleaned the area throughly before you replace it with a a new one. Also as always disconnect all power to the unit immediately.

There are things about the condenser fan that you need to do first voltage, amperage, shaft size, horse power, and direction of rotation.
