Can you help me troubleshoot my Dakota that overheats after I have replaced the belts, thermostat and water pump, the ac only blows hot air?

my Dakota overheats after replacing belts,thermal, water pump i have an electric fan but cant tell if it comes on! when i have ac on it becomes warm air when it starts to over heat

It sound like you installed the thermostat incorrectly or there may be air trapped in the system. Try doing a radiator flush and bleed the system afterward.

Start your truck with the hood up and let it run until it starts to warm up to see if the fan comes on. It probably isn't working.

Its possible that air is trapped inside the engine still, some vehicles are difficult to get all the air out to be able to cool completely, I agree with checking the fan first. start engine with hood up let warm up, check fan

I had been having similar problems with my durango, same engine. I had to pretty much replace the entire cooling system including the radiator, hoses, pumps, a/c unit. It was a nightmare, but no more overheating and we have cool air.

have a mechanic check to see if water flow is blocked somewhere. if water is flowing through engine properly, the engine should be cooling. also check coolant temperature switch to see if working.

You mention two different problems. You need to have your radiator checked for circulation and pressure. Your AC could have a valve that is not opening properly. Best to have a specialist check this one out.
