The best way is to brush their teeth with a special cat toothbrush and toothpaste. Feeding dry food can also help to keep their teeth clean.

To prevent the formation of plaque (cause of gingivitis) brush your cats' teeth with an enzymatic cat toothpaste and a baby/cat toothbrush. There are also solutions that you can add to your cats' drinking water which will help with plaque. Special diets such as Hills T/D may also help.

Make sure your cats teeth stay clean by regularly getting its teeth cleaned at the vet. Also feed a high quality food to help prevent gingivitis.

You would have to regularly have their teeth cleaned by a vet. This can be expensive, so prepare for the expense. There are also treats for cats that are dental treats that may assist with hereditary conditions like gingivitis. You would probably want to alternate the two to maximize the cats care.
