How do I make sure my children develop a good swimming technique?

My children are just learning to swim.

Enroll them in lessons. The local YMCA's offer great programs sponsored by Red Cross. They learn not only good swim technique, but also important safety concepts. My son has been attending the classes since he was four years old and finds them to be lots of fun! Good luck to you.

The first steps are to get them comfortable in the water. Then after this give them the basics yourself after this i would recommend calling in a professional. If only to give them good grounding in the beggining, then they can practise themselves with you and/or at school or with their friends.

Lessons, lessons and more lessons. You can find lessons available anywhere from their school to the local YMCA. Start them off young and make sure they feel comfortable in the water. Take them to the beach or always have them spend time in the pool. Make sure you ease them into it.

To be able to swim in a natural excellent way, the children should develop their swimming skills early in their life. Find a good teacher for them, you can make them go to the nearby swimming pool in the club of have some training exercises.
