To make this weld, you need to purchase the welding materials from a hardware store. Then cut across in a diagonal but vertical fashion.

Start at the bottom and make overlapping crescent shapes keeping the hot zone of the weld fluid and connected. Use a welding mask.

Once you get your puddle then take and push it up slowly you will know if you are doing it right when you look and the slag is peeling up.
