Welding overhead is the most difficult type of welding. You are dealing with the forces of gravity, a poor position for you body and the danger of objects falling on you. Can you learn, the answer is yes. Should you learn, it depends on how much it pays.

I am sure that you need professional training to learn how to weld things over your head. Definately get a helment and glasses to protect your eyes and head from injury.

to weld things over your head you may need a latter or stool to stand on an pay attention to what you are doing also a second person should be close bye just in case you get weldin happy it always nessesary? To have assistance while trying the do it your self project
