You need to connect your PSP (USB Cable) to the computer. Now on the PC you will see the PSP files. Now you can create a folder, name it music.

You can format the card in the PSP by click on the System Menu and choosing Format Memory Stick. Remove the stick and place it in your computer's card reader. You can now transfer music to the newly created music folder on the card. The PSP should recognize this folder without a problem.

your music folder can either be in root of your memory stick, or in PSP folder. but they are treated the same, so there is no use making two music folders in those two places. but you can just make additional folders inside your music folder. for example, "MS root/PSP/music/new folder"

Put the memory stick in the PSP. Go to system system settings in the main menu at your left. Click format the memory stick and confirm it. Connect the PSP to computer and go to my computer and open the PSP (normally a removable folder). A music folder will be there.

Connect the PSP to your computer with a USB cord. If you're on Windows, a window should pop up asking what you want to do. Open the folder to view files. Create a folder called MUSIC in there. If you want more folders, just create sub-folders within the MUSIC folder.
