Some computers have a Microphone input jack, or even a built in microphone. If this is the case with yours, you can use that. If not, you will have to buy a usb interface from your local music store.

There are many different computer applications you can use to record your own music. If you have a mac, it typically comes with garageband. If you have a pc, you can use fruity loops. Each program works differently. In each program, you can record different instruments on different tracks, loop your music and control volumes on each instrument.

You can purchase music recording software from any large music instrument seller. It's fairly simple to operate and it often has drums on it.

Acquire recording software so you can have multi-track capabilities. Find an audio input device which will allow you to connect instrument or mic and directly record to your computer. M-Audio makes relatively inexpensive ones. You can even use a computer mic with the software, but quality diminishes.
