You're going to need a few things, a set of basic tools. Sockets, Allen Wrenches and the like. You're going to need a long copper wire for a ground and to connect, you'll need to line the wire directly to the throttle from the engine, to pump the gas and keep it in place.

Thethrottle cable off an old lawn mower that will hook on the engine fine with it's little hook and have a return spring hooked so the throttle will return quickly.

If your are wanting to hook up this type of throttle on your go kart then you will need to hook up the mount first. Then you can put it on.
