You'll need a basic understanding of how to connect wires. Assuming you have this. You'll need a wire stripper and some common wires for the job.

Honestly, in my opinion, I would not attempt something like this unless you are an electronics professional. If it's not done properly, then you will have an electrical fire on your hands or worse. Chances are if you are asking how to do it, then you should call an electrician.
