There are a lot of ways to Tune a 5 String Bass. The most common is BEADG. You could drop is down half step if you want a more bass sound, suitable for blues and jazz. For pop and rock though, You could configure it to go F#BEAD, which would have enough twang for the sound needed.

The standard tuning order is this, from largest to smallest: B-E-A-D-G. Tune the strings in order, but you can start with the largest one or the smallest one.

You can tune a 5 string bass by either going online and searching for online bass tuner, going to a store and buying a tuner, or even by playing the notes on the piano. All of the above are easy ways to tune a 5 string bass.
