Filling the toilet bowl with some type of soda or carbonated beverage would help to get rid of the stains. You could also use a Alker-Seltzer. The orange kind gives it a fresh smell that is nice. Simply let it sit for a while then scrub with a brush lightly.

These are generally hard water stains and sometimes appear black. Use a under the rim cleaner and let it soak before using a toilet bowl brush. Let it sit and scrub very hard.

There a couple of things that should do the trick. Bleach will usually get rid of any stains, it works well on mildew and other things that can stain a toilet bowel. Another good product is CLR, it should take of lime and rust if thats what the problem is.

Use some lime away you can get at the dollar store, squeeze on the upper part of the bowl and let sit for about an hour, then using a toilet bowl brush scrub until gone.

I would recommend using bleach. If the bowl is white, then bleach will work just fine. Also, use some vinegar and see it shine.

With some tough stains, you will need to use a resilient toilet brush combined with a commercial cleaner. If the stain persists, you may need to apply the cleanser and let it sit for some time to allow it to break up the stain and then scrub.

For the toughest stains I have found that using a lime away type cleaner seems to work the best on toilets. There are many different products out there that will help you in this task. If they still aren't going away, consult a professional to find out what you need.
