If you haven't tried this one yet, it might just help: Place hair around the perimeter of your yard and high traffic areas. Dog's fur is best, but if you don't have a dog, you can try going to a local barber, and ask them for a bag of hair. Sounds weird, I know.

Search online for wildlife removal professionals in your area, as the only proven and surefire way to get rid of an armadillo (other than killing it, which is unnecessary) is by trapping and relocating it. I'm sure there will be many who know just what to do about armadillos if they are native to your area.

Armadillos do have very sensitive noses, meaning that anything with a strong odor can be helpful to get rid of them. I found rags soaked in pure vinegar or mild ammonia (such as in Windex) very supportive. Simply put it down their burrow(s) and it should assist you in evicting them. Dropping Mothballs has shown success, too.

The best way to get rid of armadillos is to trap and relocate them. This is best done by a professional. After you have done this some simple prevention techniques should ensure that you are not plagued by this problem again.

You can try catching the armadillo on your own, or perhaps trapping it. Otherwise call your local animal control for help.

Depending on where you live, it might even be legal to shoot it. If you don't want to harm it, try setting a few traps, more specifically snare traps. You can also get a outside dog and try to scare it away, may i suggest a pit bull.
