How do I find out if someone was deported or not?

I think a friend of mine was deported and I would like to know for sure.

You might want to call the immigration office and ask about that. Also try calling a deportation office (not sure of their phone number).

Deportation/immigrations records are not public. You can hire an attorney to look into the matter if the individual in question poses a threat to you.

If you need to find out whether or not someone has been deported, you should call INS and to speak to a deportation officer. They should be able to look up if someone has been deported. Hope that helps.

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Washington, D.C. There is also a Federal Agency, ICE that oversees deportation and maintains listings.

If my friend is already in the country, for him/her to be deported he/she would have to be arrested first for a violation to the law, so I will go to the police station in the city he/she was arrested. That being the case, I will ask the police officers if my friend is going to be deported.
