How do I cancel a postal money order?

If you've sent the money order and it is lost, visit the post office to file to cancel it. If you still have the money order, pay it to yourself.

Go to the post office with the money order, they will return your money right there. Otherwise, take the receipt there, they can cancel but it takes longer.

Providing you have the original money order, just take it down to the post office and advice them you want to return it as you no longer have use of it. They will check to make sure it is not a counterfeit and then refund your money.
