First you need to give the engineers a design of what you are going to do and they need to approve it. If it is approved, then you start with a shell of the design. Get the frame work secure and start adding the roof, shingles and gutters. You will need a railing and a railing down the steps.

A porch addition can be done by doweling into the existing porch and pouring concrete where you want the porch to be. Hand rails should be added before concrete drys where it can set into it. A simple roof can be added to match the existing roof or a nice tarp can be put up for cover.
