You need to have a firm surface to begin with. Place stones at the bottom to allow for settling of the ground. Build a wooden frame of the same size that you want the stoop to be. Next, mix the concrete with water. Pour the concrete into the frame and level the top off.

Frame out the area using plywood and 2x4s. After framing, spray the entire area lightly with a garden hose, then pour in the concrete and use a tamper to pat it down. Use a 2x4 to level off with the top of the frame. Remove frame after cured.

Measure carefully and build a frame to hold the shape of the stoop on an appropriately prepared foundation. A knowledgeable salesperson at the home improvement store is a great resource.

First you will need to set a good base where you want the stoop. (compacted gravel) Next you will need to set forms in the shape of the stoop you want. After this mix your concrete and pour it into the forms. Let the concrete set, and you have your very own stoop.

Pour concrete into wooden forms that are slightly larger the finished stoop size. Using a 2lb sledge hammer and metal chisels and cut away any unwanted concrete.
