The advice I was given was to take him to a party. While there introduce him to an attractive woman and walk away. If he returns to you he's interested, if not it's time to move on. But if this technique is not for you, you can always just ask the guy outright how he feels.

The best way to tell if he sees you as just a friend or if he might be interested in something more is by just asking him.

Pay close attention to how he responds to you, does he touch you when he is talking to you, does he make eye contact? If not then he wants friend.
