Not sure if there are any tests but there are universal signs to detect an abusive relationship which include (but are not limited to) jealousy, controlling and blame.

If the man is ever physical in his anger, that is a major warning. Even if he apologizes later and says it will never happen again, it usually does. If the man does not want the woman to have a job but be solely dependent on him, that is another warning. If he does not want her being with friends.

There are hundreds of tests online that will show your friend that her relationship is abusive. If I were you, I'd contact a Rape, Abuse and Crisis Center, either locally, or online for information. They should be able to provide you with the necessary materials to show your friend how bad a relationship she's in.

If the guy hits her or throws or hits things in front of her when angry or tries to alienate her from her friends and family, he will be abusive.
