This can be very difficult. Remove anything they are attracted to: available garbage cans, outdoor cat food, etc. You can also buy animal repellent sprays. Remember to reapply them after rain. For a cheaper method, you can sprinkle used kitty litter around the edge of the property. Good luck!

The best way to keep possums from the yard is a bit grotesque, but effective. It involves the syntetic urine of a wolf. Simply spray along the border.
