How can I make a baby stop biting me while nursing?

I need to do it without hurting him.

What I found while breast feeding my son was to wet a (warm)wash clothe and wipe his chin. This would distract him enough that he would stop biting but not so much that he would stop nursing. I also would try to gently tickle his arm as a distraction, this did not work as well.

Slip your breast out of your baby's mouth if he/she bites you. Look at your baby and say No firmly. Allow your baby to nurse again. If you are bitten again, repeat above.
