How can I increase my flexibility and do splits?

I began dance at a later age than most, and I cannot do a split.

You can increase flexibility with yoga and a lot of stretching. To achieve the split means to start where you are and set goals to be able to go farther and farther. Stretching will get you there.

In order to do a split, stretching every day will be required. It will be a slow process, quad and hamstring stretches will all be necessary.

Relax your body every day and do several body stretching exercises every day and consistently.This will improve as your muscles get strong to support the particular moves you need to do.
