Take a class on time management. Your time is very precious. Take a class on how to deal with difficult employees it will be worth your time. If your company has classes for new managers take them they are worth every minute. Read articles on good managerial styles. Watch and learn from other managers at your job.

There are classes you can take, most companies, like Walmart for example, have special seminars and workshops for managers to improve skills. If you work for a large company, ask your human resources manager about workshops, seminars, weekend conferences, etc. that may be held at later dates. You can also take classes at a community college.

To improve managerial skills you need to get organized and learn to multi task. You also need to mearn how to micro manage others.

First, reflect on yourself on what your values and beliefs are. Learn from good examples, but don't try to be someone else.
