Make a fruit fly trap. Roll a piece of paper into a funnel, put a banana slice in a jar, and stick the funnel into the jar pointy-end down.

Use dawn dish liquid in a spray bottle with water, it does something to their pores and they die. You can use it on them or ants, spiders, its amazing what dawn dish liquid can do.

If you want to avoid using chemicals, the sticky fly strips are very useful. Just be careful especially where you place them, because they are very sticky! You can also pour a little bit of apple or other fruit juice, wine or beer in a bowl and collect a few that way.

Put your produce in your refrigerator and the fruit files should go away in a couple of days, they show up when you keep produce on your counter.

Getting rid of little fruit flies around the house is simple-- take a disposable cup, fill it up with half an inch of drinking alcohol (hard liquor like vodka), and place it near where the fruit flies seem to be gathering. They fly to it like moths to a flame, and drown to their deaths.
