Illustrations can be published in many ways. One way is to do your own research online and have it published independantly that way. another wya is to contact local and regional publication offices that can help you arrangement it and the marketing of the items you want published. From there the sky is the limit.

You should go through a publishing company or look around online for people searching for covers of books and things like that. It is usually pretty difficult to get published unless you are working for a company that has a lot of connections with publishing places. Just keep looking around and you will eventually find something.

you will have to approach a publisher taking your illustrations with you so the publisher can take a look at your work. One way would be to hook up with a published author and illustrate for them, that is not likely to happen easily though. The best way would be to just publish them yourself and hope for them to sell. Their many publishers out there though and if you just keep bugging people you will get your foot in the door.
