How can I extend the length of the pull chain on a light fixture?

At the local hardware store you can buy a sort or breakable chain length. Use this piece to connect a second link of chain.

Go into a home improvement store in the lighting department and purchase another chain which has a connection end on it and attach it to your existing pull chain to the length you need it to be. You can then cut the chain to the length which is suitable for you to reach, this will extend it for you.

You can tie a sting or cord of any length of your choosing to the end of the pull chain to make it reachable. Most pull chains are metel and have a special metal piece that allows for another metal chain to be attached. You can purchased these cords at numerous hardware stores or anywhere else lighting fixtures are sold.
