How can I beat a contempt of court charge?

I really am innocent and I do not want to hire an attorney if I don't have to.

Go to court and explain why you are innocent. Stick to the facts only. Answer questions clearly and succinctly and maintain eye contact with the judge. Do not draw conclusions for the judge, ask the judge questions, or argue with the judge. You are not required to have an attorney.

Get an attorney. Those charges are only given if the judge thinks you've been disrespectful or didn't do something you were supposed to do. Lawyer up to argue a judge.

I am afraid you will have to get an attorney. The prosecutor will know all the tricks an you don't. Besides contempt of court is frowned upon by the judge because it is disrespectful and he will be looking for any reason to jail you

You most likely do need to hire an attorney. Your main job would be to prove you weren't in contempt, which will be a difficult task.

Well, you may be innocent but in any such legal case, you need a lawyer to help you get out.

Stick to the usual defenses: necessity, mistaken identity, duress, or show lack of intent (in this case you didn't have notice of what the court ordered in the first place).

Contempt of court means that you did not follow a court order or offended the court. This is regardless of innocense of what is going on in court. You would have to prove that you did comply with the court order regardless of the accurancy of the order.
