Explain "breadth" and "depth" in sociology.

The term "breadth" refers to how wide the topic is studied or over how many groups. "Depth" is how detailed, how long or the degree of detail a single subject was studied. A broad study is how many children are born to women of any age. A deep study is all the factors that influence family size.

In sociology we study human behavior and action, reactions of humans. When we study origins of behavior of humans, then we come to know about lot of origin,organization & development of the human society. In sociology, we try to find out various societal segment as a self-contained entity or in relation to society as a whole.
