Laws vary depending on the state you live in, but in most places, children under 18 must be living with you and given proper care or this could be considered child neglect. Exceptions to this would be if your child is an emancipated minor, in state custody, or living with another parent.

Your child is your responsibility till he or she reaches the age of 18 years. Once they reach 18 you do not have to have them living with you. If you no longer want them living under your roof you must find sutible housing for him or her that will provide guidance.

technically you are responsible for your tee untill he or she is eighteen, but i didnt live at home at that age and my parents never got into any trouble over it. I believe that it would be ok for your teen not to live with you as long as they are not out getting into trouble.

Since your child is still a minor, you cannot legally kick him/her out of your house. You can, however, when he/she turns 18.

No, sign papers stating that she does not. But where will she live? Is this in her best interest, the seventeen year old is still a minor in some states.

Unless there is another eligible parent or guardian, then the answer is yes. The law requires proper supervision until the age of 18. After that time children are free to go where ever they wish. Most of the time a child will go stay with the other parent when needed.
