Unfortunately the prognosis is usually grave. If the cancer is distributed throughout the liver, there isn't much you can do. If it is just one tumor, then it can usually be removed and the dog has the potential to live a full life for a few more months or even years.

The prognosis for dogs with liver cancer is genrally poor because it is usually not diagnosed until it is quite advanced since early symptoms are often mild and vague.
