Yes, it is a good change of color. The slight contrast between light brown hair, and black will not be too drastic. And every time you are putting slices in your hair of a darker color, it is then called low-lights.

Yes, but please be sure to get it done professionally.Allot of people try to do it themselves or allow a friend to do it, and it ends in disaster. I had mine done in January and I loved the results. Try adding just a hint of red too, it adds just enough flair.

Light brown hair with black highlights doesn't really look good. Highlights are supposed to be lighter than your hair color so if you're thinking about trying a look like this, dye your hair black and then put light brown highlights in instead.

It really depends on your skin tone. Finer hair that lays flat or has been ironed flat looks better with highlights also. It could work If browns are your color.
